WHO WE ARE TODAY

Infront Surfcraft today is proudly owned and operated by Mark Simpson. Following tremendous success in Surf. Life Saving as an elite athlete, Mark purchased Infront Surfcraft in 2011.

OUR STORY

BUILT ON INNOVATION. PROVEN BY GENERATIONS

Infront Surfcraft began on the beaches of Cudgen, New South Wales, in 1995, founded by passionate surf lifesaver Shane McIntosh. Working from a humble farm shed, Shane revolutionised the foam nipper board market with his innovative designs — shaping, routing, and assembling each board by hand.

With an uncompromising focus on durability, strength, and real surf performance, Infront Surfcraft’s early foam boards quickly earned a reputation across the Surf Life Saving community.

Following this strong foundation, Infront Surfcraft expanded into fibreglass racing boards, helping fuel the careers of past Ironmen and Ironwomen like Matt Poole and Courtney Hancock. As Infront Surfcraft boards powered athletes across nipper, junior, and senior ranks, the brand became a trusted name in surf clubs nationwide.

After Shane, Infront Surfcraft passed into the hands of respected surf lifesaving community figures:

  • First to Adrian Bursa on the Gold Coast, who continued to grow Infront Surfcraft’s reach.
  • Then to John Neilson of Surfers Paradise, who further cemented Infront Surfcraft’s reputation for quality and performance.
  • Later to Martin Lang, former Australian Rugby League player based on the Gold Coast

In 2011, Infront Surfcraft was purchased by Mark Simpson ‘Simmo’ — an elite athlete with deep roots in Surf Life Saving.
Bringing fresh energy, surf racing experience, and a genuine passion for the sport, Simmo evolved Infront Surfcraft’s product range to deliver even greater innovation, customisation, and real surf performance — ensuring Infront Surfcraft continues to meet the demands of today’s competitive athletes, clubs, and lifesaving patrols.

Today, proudly based in the Sutherland Shire of New South Wales, Infront Surfcraft remains fiercely committed to producing boards that are built for real surf, built for real challenges, and built for those who know quality matters.
